Department Manager / Buyer

I’m looking for a passionate and experienced retail manager with strong leadership skills, exceptional communication, and a keen eye for fashion or homewares. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to drive sales, a strong commercial mindset, and experience in stock selection, buying, and negotiation.

You’ll be joining a well-established retailer in Galway, known for its outstanding product range and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Store Manager in sourcing and selecting products for the store.
• Drive department performance, ensuring sales targets and KPIs are met.
• Lead, train, and develop a team of sales assistants.
• Oversee merchandising and ensure effective product placement.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience managing teams of 8+ within fashion or homewares.
• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• A creative eye for product selection, with experience in sourcing stock.
• Understanding of product sourcing, supplier negotiation, and stock management.
• Proven track record of achieving high sales and driving KPIs in a retail environment.
