Deli Chef – Co. Mayo (Part Time)

Excel Recruitment is seeking a Deli Chef to join our client’s busy store in Co. Mayo. This part-time role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate chef to take the lead in delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced retail environment.

Salary: €15 – €16ph

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, evening meals, and chilled products to a high standard
• Ensure strong presentation skills, making sure food is visually appealing
• Minimise waste and identify cost-saving measures while maintaining quality
• Serve food when required, always delivering exceptional customer service
• Maintain excellent HACCP knowledge and adherence within the deli team
• Order and check stock, ensuring all deliveries meet quality standards
• Complete regular stock takes and assist with stock control
• Ensure cleanliness within the deli, including carrying out wash-up duties
• Train and support deli staff in safe working practices, food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
• Carry out any additional duties as required by management

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Deli Chef or in a similar role within a retail or foodservice environment.
• Strong cooking and food preparation skills with a focus on quality and efficiency.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP regulations.
• Ability to lead by example, train, and support the deli team.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• A passion for great food and exceptional customer service.
