Butcher Assistant – Dublin North

Excel Recruitment is currently seeking a Butcher Assistant to join our client’s busy supermarket in north Dublin. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for fresh food and customer service to build a rewarding career in a well-established retail environment.

Salary: €15 – €16ph

Responsibilities:

• Assist the butcher in the preparation, cutting, trimming, and packaging of meat products
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the meat counter and preparation areas
• Provide friendly and helpful service to customers at the meat counter
• Monitor product quality and shelf life, ensuring freshness and proper rotation
• Assist with stock control, labelling, and merchandising of meat displays
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations
• Support the butcher with any additional duties as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a butcher assistant or fresh food role is preferred but not essential
• A passion for food preparation and customer service
• Basic knowledge of meat products and food safety standards
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
