Trainee Operations Manager

Excel Recruitment is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to work abroad with our client’s large retail store in Barbados as a Trainee Operations Manager. This unique role is designed to provide comprehensive training in the company’s operations, values, and business strategies, paving the way for a Buyer’s position in Florida, USA.

Location: Barbados (11-month contract) with the potential to relocate to Florida, USA
Salary: $100k USD

Responsibilities:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the company’s operations, values, and business strategies
  • Assist in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning
  • Support the management team in achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Participate in stock management, merchandising, and product availability initiatives
  • Analyse sales trends and contribute to product selection and buying strategies
  • Assist in driving promotional activities to maximise store performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and local regulations

Requirements:

  • Experience in a store management or buying role, preferably within a large retail environment
  • Strong leadership potential and a desire to grow into a senior role
  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities, with a focus on driving results
  • Customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering a high-quality shopping experience
  • Flexibility to relocate internationally and adapt to new environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with buying, category management, or merchandising is a significant advantage
